School Uniform
We remain committed to maintaining high standards for all young people at Beath High School, with school uniform forming a key whole-school improvement priority for our 2026/27 session. A consistent approach to uniform helps promote a positive school ethos, supports equality, and reinforces our shared expectations around pride, readiness to learn, and belonging.
We believe our uniform policy offers a reasonable degree of flexibility, allowing young people to feel comfortable throughout the year whilst ensuring they are appropriately dressed for school. We greatly appreciate the ongoing support of parents and carers in helping us maintain these high standards and ensuring that all pupils arrive at school ready to learn.
Beath School Uniform Requirements

- white shirt
- black smart trousers (not tracksuit bottoms)
- smart shoes
- black sweatshirt, cardigan or jumper
- if your young person chooses to wear shorts, these must be black, smart, and of an appropriate length and style.
Pupils who have timetabled PE are expected to bring appropriate PE kit and change for every lesson. PE kit should not be worn during the school day outwith PE lessons. Our PE department is well resources, with suitable changing facilities available for all classes, and pupils are provided with sufficient time at the beginning and end of lessons to change.
This expectation also applies to pupils with PE during Period 1. Young people should arrive at school in full school uniform and change into their PE kits at the start of the lesson.
We will be strengthening our processes for monitoring and tracking compliance with our school uniform policy. Parents and carers should expect increased communication where a young person is regularly not meeting uniform expectations, allowing us to work together to address any issues and provide support where required.
We recognise that there may be occasions when families require assistance with uniform provision. If you need support, please do not hesitate to contact your child's Guidance Teacher or Mr Fowley, our PT Equity. Assistance can be provided discreetly, and we maintain a stock of new uniform items to support young people and their families when needed.
