Advance Higher Biology Trip

As part of the Advanced higher biology course, our class had the opportunity to participate in a practical experiment at Fife College with other schools. We performed SDS-PAGE, a laboratory technique used to separate proteins by molecular weight only. We did this by providing the proteins with the same charge using an electric current, enabling it to be separated strictly size. It was an incredibly insightful and useful lesson, being able to actually do the experiment with the proper lab equipment provided by the college and their amazing staff will no doubt enrich our studies and prepare us for the final exam. We are looking forward to the next practical.
